General Info
This is a site for a fanfiction by Arrow and Caladan. The fic is an English adaptation of GoGo Sentai Boukenger, the 2006 season of Super Sentai in Japan, which became Power Rangers Operation Overdrive in 2007. We're basically writing this saga to attempt to see whether we can do a better job at adapting a Sentai season to PR than the people getting paid to write the yearly seasons can. Use the links on the right for navigation.
WARNING: As mentioned above, this fic is an adaptation of what became 2007's PR. Therefore, if you have yet to watch Operation Overdrive, it's a good idea to avoid this story if you don't want to be spoiled, because you WILL be spoiled. Tremendously.
Logo by Caladan. "Trackers" name by kikos. Help with actor/picture casting provided by Angel Negra, Chounette, and Mandee. A small few pictures come from toy sites or Toei's official site; the large majority of the pictures plus all the zord stats are from Super Sentai Time Capsule. A huge amount of the words used in arsenal/zord names come from a multitude of Rangerboarders who used said words in various names when they attempted to come up with better season titles than the originally slated "Drive Force". The idea of a site with modifiable information based on input comes from Mars Investigations.

Storyline
For several centuries, treasure hunters have found many relics of the past, helping reveal lost information on ancient lands and people. Recently, items have been turning up that are even more priceless. As a result, an enterprising woman has set up an organization called Terra Expedition Fleet, located in Stone Canyon, CA, to track down some of these treasures.
Unfortunately, many of those more recently found relics have turned out to be more than just priceless treasures; some have proven to be power sources or weapons that are dangerous to the people of today's world. And there are more than a few groups of treasure hunters with less than noble ideas who want to make use of these ancient treasures. Building from the history of their section of California, the many scientists and technicians employed by the new organization have pooled their resources and technology to create Ranger powers, weapons, and zords for a group of five newly hired civilians to use during their treasure hunting activities, to keep the actual archaeologists safe while on expeditions, or to run the occasional solo treasure hunting op when it's too dangerous even for the archaeologists to go.
What may possibly be of greater concern to T.E.F., however, is the identity of many of these opposing treasure hunters. The majority of these hunters aren't even from the United States. In fact, several of them are from countries that have recently been involved in wars... could there be deeper conspiracies involved in their hunts?
It's now up to the Global Tracker Rangers to find the treasures before their enemies can, and find out just what their intentions are.
Frequently Asked Questions
Cause a few people asked.
- How did this come about?
- Operation Overdrive is PR's 15th anniversary, and after Forever Red and Tommy in Dino Thunder, people had been clamoring for months prior about ideas dealing with older Rangers, allies, mentors, or villains (some of which are dead) coming back to get involved in the new season on a recurring basis. Tommy was more than enough for us, but we started thinking about a twist to that scheme: what if it were one-shot kids from earlier seasons that came back years later to be the new Rangers themselves? Upon releasing that idea at Rangerboard and LiveJournal, we got a lot of positives toward it, both from people who were keen on the anniversary ideas, and those who weren't. Then one person suggested that we better get ready to write a fanfic for such a season when the PR writers inevitably end up not using this idea. And then we decided... why wait?
- PR writers pull some plot ideas from sentai and drop others. What are you planning on keeping and ditching?
- A slight portion of the background story for one of the Rangers was too useful to drop, though the personalities for all five and the background for the other four are all different, by a good amount in a few cases, radically in most.
- The idea of several of the core group being experienced Rangers for several months before the series started was also kept. We were originally planning on ditching that, but having "newbie Red" so often in the last few US seasons was annoying and made us decide to run in this direction instead.
- The idea of multiple factions of enemies were kept, but their backgrounds and overall plans are completely changed from their sentai counterparts.
- Some of the episode plots will be similar, especially at the beginning, but as the season gets underway, things will start going in crazy directions.
- So basically, don't be surprised to see more than a few similarities in the first five chapters, but don't be surprised when your feet get knocked out from under you later.
- How many stories will there be, and when will new stories be available?
- 38 chapters/episodes. Life has made writing new episodes a very sparse thing, but rest assured that the writers are still committed to the project. It just might take... an inordinate amount of time to complete.
- Who's doing what in this project?
- Arrow's writing, Caladan's doing idea making and editing, with a few of the girls credited above acting as beta-readers. Aoife actually threw out the idea of possibly having multiple writers in a virtual season style. We're actually considering that now; it's a keen idea, and it would more closely match the multiple writers seasons of PR actually have. If we do go that route though, it won't happen till several chapters in at the earliest; we need time to get the basics down in stone before we open the floodgates, so to speak.
- Who are those actors you're using to represent all the characters?
- Nico - Blas Moya
- Dylan - Justin Whalin
- Simon - Sean Patrick Thomas
- Silvy - Mischa Barton
- Heather - Natalia Cigliuti
- Emma - Marg Helgenberger
- Alexander - William Petersen
- Jürgen - Gottfried John
- Andreas - Til Schweiger
- You watch a lot of CSI, don't you?
- We don't, but Angel Negra, who casted those two, sure does. On the other hand, they look pretty much like what we were going for in those characters, so we're not complaining.
- Why aren't you using pictures of the original actors for the adult Rangers?
- Too difficult to find. Only two of the original show actors for these one-shots were credited, and of them, only one seems to have pictures of herself in later roles showing up across the Internet. Of those later roles, they max out at about 2002, meaning we'd still only have pictures of a 13/14 year old, which wouldn't really work.
- Do you have a link to the source material so I can watch what you're writing?
- TV-Nihon has subbed the entire series of Boukenger, the Japanese version of the show (49 episodes and two movies). The US version is completely available for purchase on DVD. If you're not able to purchase the episodes, various PR forums, such as Rangerboard and PR United, also tend to have people encoding and putting up downloads, so that's an alternative.
- So what's up with the whole 'showing other countries in a bad light' deal?
- That's not at all what we're trying to do, and we apologize if anyone got that idea. The enemy groups the Rangers fight in this season are made of revolutionaries from said countries; groups working without government backing or popular support because they're breaking laws and doing things those countries and their peoples wouldn't want. It's not the countries we're painting in a bad light; not at all. So if any of our readers actually come from Germany or China, we assure you that we don't think of you as the same type of people as Neolante and Lóng Gǔ, and we think you're awesome for many reasons, not the least of which is that you're reading this fic.
